Your equine veterinarian has another tool, in addition to ultrasound and x-ray, with which to see inside your horse's body. Depending upon the circumstances, the veterinarian may also use a small tube called an endoscope.

DPEC uses a video endoscope to help diagnose respiratory and gastric diseases. We have two scopes; one primarily for scoping stomachs and the other for scoping guttural pouch. Both of these scopes are inserted through the horses’ nasal cavity.
